Shakes Run is a clubhouse-centered community located near the eastern edge of the Louisville Metro area in Jefferson County. Established in 2008, the young development has been the site of four Homearama home shows (2009, 2010, 2013, 2014), and is located in the eighth wealthiest zip code in all of Louisville Metro; average household income nearly 100K.
Homebuyers will both love Shakes Run for its quiet country environment, the quality of lots and homes available, and easy access to shopping and entertainment. Home prices begin in the $400s, while lot prices range from almost 70k to over the $100s.
The clubhouse-centered development is generally bounded by Eastwood Fisherville Road to the west, Shakes Run (one of two streams in the area feeding into Floyds Fork) to the south, and unincorporated Jefferson County to the east and north. Shakes Creek Drive is the main road in the neighborhood, connecting residents to Old Taylorsville Road and Shelbyville Road via Eastwood Fisherville Road.
Within Shakes Run, residents have access to the clubhouse located in the heart of the development. There, one can use the well-equipped gym before or after work, go for a swim in either the deluxe indoor pool or the outdoor pool, or hold a gathering.
Those who prefer to have their fun outside can enjoy fishing in the two ponds and Shakes Run (the stream which gives the development its name), play football out in the permanent open spaces, or take in nature from their own backyard, especially when deer pop out to say hello to their human neighbors.
Golfers can also take U.S. 60 west for a round of 18 at either Midland Trail Golf Club to the south, or the storied Valhalla Golf Club (home to the Ryder Cup, PGA Championship, and Senior PGA Championship over the years) to the north.
Along the two golf courses and the stream running through them, Floyds Fork, is The Parklands of Floyds Fork, a collection of four individual parks and a 19-mile linear green space, encompassing over 4,000 acres of land. There, 100 miles of hiking, biking, and paddling await visitors, as well as an 18-mile section of the 110-mile Louisville Loop.
Shopaholics need not fear when considering Shakes Run for their new home. A quick hop onto Shelbyville Road (otherwise known as U.S. 60) eastbound leads to riches aplenty at The Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass at the southern end of Simpsonville in nearby Shelby County. Those who prefer to keep their money in Jefferson County, meanwhile, are encouraged to head west on U.S. 60, where Oxmoor Center and Mall St. Matthews lay in wait. The same journey on Old Taylorsville Road/Taylorsville Road eventually leads into The Highlands, where many hip shops and restaurants can more than satisfy any need.

My husband and I have worked with Scott for many years. He has always gone above and beyond in all our dealings with him. He helped us get a phenomenal price on the current house we're in now. I've worked with many realtors that have tried to push houses we aren't interested on us, but Scott takes the time to listen and ultimately doesn't pressure us into something we wouldn't want. He's very knowledgeable about the buying/selling process and we've learned a lot throughout the years. Just recently, we learned that by increasing the size of bedrooms in the house, we also need to increase the septic system capacity. I never would have known that if he hadn't explained it to us. I've recommended him to multiple friends of mine, and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a great Realtor.
