Another Image of Polo Fields A handful of subdivisions comprised of approximately 850 lots make up the Polo Fields development, and are tied together by the golf course and country club which lends Polo Fields its name. Mean commute time is 24.7 minutes according to ZipAtlas, while mass transit is non-existent in the area where the division lays. Those who would prefer to ride the bus would be best served by the TARC park-and-ride near Middletown Station eight minutes to the west.

The Polo Fields development is generally bounded by the dense forest on the northern end of the golf course, Polo Fields Lane and the golf course to the south, the golf course on the west side of Crosstimbers Drive to the west, and the Meadows subdivision to the east.

Polo Fields Parks & Recreation

The main attraction in Polo Fields is the 18-hole golf course and country club making up most of the original development. However, the club and course are separate from the HOA overseeing Polo Fields, requiring residents to pay a separate membership fee to join. Swimming and tennis courts are also part of the club.

A short walk or drive to the north leads to Long Run Park. The park’s 416.35 acres straddle the Jefferson-Shelby county line, and features an 18-hole golf course, fishing and boating on Long Run Lake, and 1.7-mile multi-use road for driving, riding, or walking.

Not enough golf? A few minutes’ drive to the southwest will bring you to the gates of Valhalla. Designed by golfing legend Jack Nicklaus, the famed course has played host to several major championships since opening in 1986, including the 2008 Ryder Cup, and 2014 PGA Championship.

Fourteen minutes to the southeast leads to The Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass in Simpsonville, while a 20-minute drive west beats a path toward the shopper’s paradise at Oxmoor Center and Mall St. Matthews.

Other unique local offerings lay to the west, as well, including Mark’s Feed Store (barbecue), Yang Kee Noodle (Asian), and Wick’s (pizza).
